Autonomous ML Race car using Jetson Nano

Autonomous RC Race car using Deep Learning

I am Building and optimizing a machine learning based Autonomous RC car. Testing various control systems and Hybrid control system (partially using machine learning and multiple controllers). This uses Jetson Nano microcontroller and camera. I am also testing other sensors like IMU to Limit steering angle and speed during cornering.

Super Capacitor RC Car

The idea behind this project is to make a scaled vehicle that take very less time to charge and runs for a long time. Achieved this using a buck boost converter that converts the energy from super capacitor to something constant that the vehicle can use

Working of Super Capacitor RC car

We compared the performance of this scaled vehicle with normal battery and also with Super Capacitor and found that the acceleration and overall performance of the vehicle with super capacitor is slightly better than a same car with battery.

Side impact absorber for vehicle

In this project I used various sensors to predict a accident milli-seconds before the accident and deploy a side impact absorber that reduces direct impact and also reduces the chance of rolling over. This can save lives if implemented in vehicles, since the injury to head will be greatly reduced.

Formula Barath 2017

Worked in a formula student racing team as a technical person in charge of electronics in the vehicle. It was a great opportunity to learn and work on something I was passionate about.

xbox controlled Raspberry Pi RC truck

This is a simple project using python to connect and control a RC truck using Raspberry pi. By doing this project I have learnt communication between controller and raspberry pi which was not easy. Also added a buck boost controller and LiPo battery for hours of run time.

Trike

The idea behind this project is to shift the center of gravity and lean the vehicle along with the steering. Designed a complex steering mechanism in paper and showed it to principle during my high school. Then my school provided me funds and support to make my dream a reality.

This is the working of the three wheeled trike that I made in school. This was the first big project that I ever under took.

Brain controlled Arm project

This is a project I developed with my team mates for our mechatronics term project. Professor was very impressed and we have got A grade for our project. we have reverse engineered and hacked a toy to read brain wave signals and send it to an microcontroller. Then we transmit a key to raise or lower a arm.

Brain Controlled Arm

This is the mechanical design that is used to move the cup up or down. The idea is to help mobility impaired individuals to control or move physical objects with their mind.

micro bot

The idea is to make a remote controlled surveillance robot that is tiny but packs a very long battery time. For this project I used a Lithium Ion cells and most efficient motor and electronics. This bot can run for hours without needing to charge and can go though narrow tunnels and passages.

FPV drones

I also like to build and fly FPV drones. These are some of the most complex machines that can reach over 100 mph speeds. I have learned a lot from building drones.

Engine Intake Design

This is a intake design that i have developed for formula student vehicle. This design is incredibly complex and took multiple iterations to achieve swirl. This would allow our engine to get more turbulent air for better combustion.
